First Day!

Welcome to the first day of 4th Grade Purple in the 2015-16 school year. I am SO excited to be working with this group of children, and I know we're going to have a fabulous year. The smiles, laughter, learning and joy that I've already seen in the classroom has been welcoming and encouraging.

Today we've done a myriad of activities - from getting to know each other (2 Truths & A Lie), to exploring the room (I Spy), to group work tasks (classroom expectations), to representing ourselves in numbers and words (Bloom Where You Grow, Math About Me). The students have been busy doing their very best work and showing what a terrific group of 4th graders they are. :)

This Week in Our Class

All Subjects

During the last week and a half of the school year students will be participating in a variety of year end activities and completing projects in their units.

These include a writing assessment, typing the good copy of their endangered animal essay, completing their reading pamphlet for their novel, doing an acrostic poem, creating a 4th grade memory book, doing a math review task, learning about tessellations, spelling assessment, IPC Powerpoint presentations while learning about North American and world wide explorers, and more!

It's going to be a busy last few days as we wind down our school year.

In Grammatica gli studenti stanno ancora affrontando il “difficile Condizionale”, “il terribile Congiuntivo”, i modi Indefiniti (Infinito, Gerundio, Participio) e ripassano tutti gli argomenti svolti con vari esercizi di Analisi Grammaticale. La 4th grade purple ha svolto anche un’attività relativa alla fiaba di Oscar Wilde “Il Principe Felice” guardando un video e scrivendo una loro versione della storia, con protagonisti una statua della loro città e un uccellino di loro scelta. I loro lavori sono appesi al muro di fronte alla loro classe.
