Students reviewed what expanded form is today, another way we represent numbers. Expanded form uses values (the worth of each digit in a number). For example, in the number 436 the digit 4 has a value of 400 (because the 4 is in the hundreds place and there are 4 hundreds so it's value = 400). Therefore, expanded form for an entire number uses the values of each digit which are added together to create the standard form. An example of expanded form is: 87,546 = 80,000 + 7,000 + 500 + 40 + 6
