Our first unit in math this year is place value.  Students are using their recollection of representing numbers to expand into larger numbers (5 and 6 digit).  Today we focused on standard form and word form of numbers, while making flip books for our interactive math notebooks to use in helping us remember terms and vocabulary.

Students are creating newspaper pages with information about themselves.  We are attempting to complete these in cursive and are really expanding our minds remembering how to form cursive letters.
